Marie Markart

LODI-Marie Darlene Viola (Hohlstein) Markart, age 73 passed away on August 16, 2011 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 9, 1938 in Lodi, the daughter of Fred & Ferne (Fisher) Hohlstein. Marie married George Markart on August 27, 1960 at First Lutheran Church in Lodi, WI. She worked seasonally at the Lodi Canning Factory and the Wisconsin Cheeseman in Sun Prairie. She also was an in home babysitter for kids for approximately 35 years. She was a Sunday school teacher at First Lutheran Church and a Girl Scout Leader. Marie is survived by her husband George of almost 51 years, her son Dan (Angie) Markart, Lodi, daughters: Judy (Boyd) Pierce, Marshall, Julie (John) Haag, Dane, Janice Learned (fianc' Jeff Taplick), Edgerton and 11 grand children: Kayla & Hayden Pierce, Andrew & Danielle Markart, Josh (Melissa) Haag, Amanda Haag, Courtney (Jeff) Johnson, Ashley (fianc' Nick Steffel), Jeremy, Cory Learned, Kaylie Taplick & 1 great granddaughter Kloe Johnson & great grandson Karson (on the way). Special Zeimet family, sister Pearl Schultz, brother Fred (Mary)Hohlstein, sister-in-law Donna (Don) Adler, sister-in-law Helen (Bill) Adler, brother-in-law Bob (Kay) Markart, brother-in-law Fred (Toni Schuler) Markart, sister-in-law Debbie Lawler and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred & Ferne Hohlstein, mother-in-law and father-in-law Gert & Fred Markart, a sister, Carol Theis, brother-in-law Elmer Theis, brother-in-law Bill Schultz, sister-in-law Linda Hohlstein. The family wishes a special thank you be given to Home Health United Hospice, Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital & St. Mary's Hospital for their loving care & support. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are suggested for future memorials to be determined. A Celebration of Marie's Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH in Lodi, with Chaplain Dan Pulsfus officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the service at the church.
