Obituary
MADISON/DIXON ILL.- Gerald Donoho, age 67, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, surrounded by his loving family at the Don & Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center, after a 2-1/2 year courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 29, 1943, in Dixon, Ill., the son of Archie and Mildred (Howell) Donoho. Jerry graduated from Dixon High School in 1961. After graduation he went on to the University of Illinois and then worked for the Illinois State Highway Department and Northwestern Steel & Wire. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970 and was stationed in Germany. After the U.S. Army, Jerry worked for Masonite Corporation in Rock Falls, Ill. He then joined Interplastic Corporation in South Bend, Ind., where he worked as plant manager and sales representative for 12 years. After that, he moved to Madison and joined Mastermold, LLC as Plant Manager, where he worked until retirement in 2009. Jerry will always be remembered as an exceptional man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, gambling, golf, bowling and travel. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Lynne; two daughters, Staci Browne and Niki (Joe) Konkel; four grandchildren, Jakob and Dylan Konkel and Payton and Madilyn Browne; sisters, Kaye (Joe) Gari of Schaumburg, Ill., and Betty (Wayne) Albrecht of DeKalb, Ill; canine companion, Murphy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Reese; brother, Sonny; and infant brother, Billy. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made in Gerald’s name to HospiceCare Inc. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brad Browne and Janet Browne for all their love and support, and also to Dr.Arbaje and staff, Dr. Turner, Dr. Teng and staff, and the HospiceCare and staff for all their wonderful support and care for Gerald.
Memorials may be made in Gerald’s name to HospiceCare Inc.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011.
