John 'Jack' Ruck Sr.

DELTONA, FLA./MADISON-John “Jack” Ruck Sr., age 83, of Deltona, Fla., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at HospiceCare. He was born on Oct. 7, 1927, in rural Fennimore, the son of William and Leta Mae (Baumgartner) Ruck. He married Margaret “Peggy” T. McDonough on Dec. 11, 1947. John served his country in the U.S. Marines, and had the distinction of serving as one of the original marine guards for the United Nations. He then worked for the LCL Transit Co. from 1950 until 1988. John and Peggy retired and moved to Deltona, Fla. He enjoyed motorcycling, golfing, collecting pocket watches, and the Daytona Beach in Florida. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. John is survived by his son, John Jr. (Bonnie) Ruck; grandchildren, Darin (Melissa) Ruck, Kelly (Todd) Ruck-Cavolt, and David (Rachel) Ruck; great-grandchildren, David, Derek, Nickelas, Justin, Ashlyn, and Maeci; sister, Judy (Don) Komplin; sister-in-law, Georgina Ruck; brother-in-law, Gene Klinzing; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison at Noon on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, with the Rev. Tom Flaherty presiding. A private burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time service on Wednesday.
