Gilbert Krinke

LODI - Gilbert Marvin Krinke, age 95, of Lodi died on September 1, 2011 at Lodi Good Samaritan Center. Gilbert was born in Waushara county Wisconsin on December 13,1915 to Emil and Mary (Dahmrohse) Krinke. Gilbert graduated from Lodi High School in 1935. Gilbert worked as a baker first for John Weber in Lodi, then in Reedsburg where he met his wife Alice Jaquish. They were married in Lime Ridge on November 4, 1939. They moved back to Lodi when the powder plant opened and he worked there on powder production until the end of the war.After the war Gilbert worked as a carpenter and mason for George Flentje until 1952 when he formed his own business. Over the years he built many Lodi homes, farm buildings and did remodeling projects. Gilbert retired in 1983. In retirement he worked in his shop making many woodworking hobby items. Over the years Gilbert has been active with First Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Lodi Volunteer Fire Department for many years and served on the Lodi City Council. Gilbert is survived by his wife Alice; son, Jim (Linda)Krinke; granddaughter,Teresa (Danny) Cheatham; grandson, Chris (Lori) Krinke; nine great -grand children; four great- great- grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rosalee Meyer, Annabel Leigh and Barb Fosnow ; and brother-in-law, Ted Jaquish. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents;an infant son,Richard ;and infant daughter, Mary; his siblings, Edna. Ina, Ervin, Arnold, Marvin, Clarence and Wilma; and sister-in- law, Betty Hineman. Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH in Lodi. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the service at the church. Burial will be at County Line Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to First Lutheran Church or to the Lodi Good Samaritan Center.
