I met Mary while dating Phyllis, and of course later took Phyllis as my bride. She was always supportive of our family and especially loved having grandchildren. She loved to get letters from them and was always very proud. She had a great love for animals so it was fitting that her last days were on her farm. She was always surrounded by cats and dogs who came to live with her. It was wonderful that her her assisted living home (Our House) had a visiting dog, she got ready an hour before the visit to be the first to great the visiting care dog.
Mary was always active with the animals, her garden and her lawn. She had a great insight into national events and politics, it was amazing to me how current and well positioned her thoughts were.
We will miss her until we meet her again, undoubtedly she is taking care of everyone's pets which may have gone to Heaven ahead of their master.

Grandma instilled her love of nature and animals with me. I remember many days spent playing on the farm with her numerous cats and the dogs, Queenie and Scottie. Always encouraging, Grandma loved to hear tales of my travels and athletic endeavors. I continue to admire her independent spirit and strong will. Grandma will always have a special place in my heart. May you rest in peace. Love, Stephanie

As Stephanie's husband, I've often heard her talk about grandma - her love for nature, her spirit and her generosity with others. Its something both Stephanie and Phyllis seem to have inherited and I'm grateful for that. I'm sure Mary is happy where she is and for a life fully lived. Rest in peace.
