Mary Mair

LODI-Mary Mair, age 93, passed away at home on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011. She was born in Cambria, the daughter of Dave and Daisy Williams. Mary attended the Cambria schools and when in high school, won the county scholarship to go to college. She went to Miss Brown's Business College, Milwaukee, and stayed with her Aunt Grace and Herbert Gottschall. Both were outstanding teachers in different colleges. Mary worked in the office at the Boston Store in Milwaukee, until she got a call from her father to come home and take care of her mother, who had a massive stroke. Mary married Wallace Mair and they had two children. When the children were in school, she loved working with all of the children as a Bible School teacher, room mother and 4H Leader. They lived on a farm and loved nature. Mary is survived by her children, David (Linda) Mair and Phyllis (Dennis) Falkenstein; grandchildren, Jamie (Jenny) Mair, and Billie Jo Mair, Stephanie (Subir Kumedan) Falkenstein, and Colin Falkenstein; and great-grandchild, Dallas Mair. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace on Nov. 5, 1986. Visitation will be held at HAMRE GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 157 S.
