Henrietta 'Gramma Doll' Kovarik

STOUGHTON-Henrietta “Gramma Doll” Kovarik, age 93, of Stoughton, formerly of West Chicago, Ill., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at Nazareth Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on Oct. 25, 1918, in Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Albina Hrabacka. Henrietta married Lou Kovarik on Oct. 7, 1939, in Brookfield, Ill. She enjoyed 52 years at their lake cottage/home on Lake Kegonsa where, following retirement, they moved permanently. Henrietta enjoyed gardening, slalom water skiing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. Henrietta is survived by her loving family, including her daughter, Maryanne (Verlin) Brown of South Beloit, Ill., two grandchildren, Carrie (Ken) Wallyn of Roscoe, Ill., and Steven (Katya Hokanson) Brown of Eugene, Ore.; five great-grandchildren, Brandon and Matthew Harnack, Gabriel Brown, Marc and Jamie Wallyn; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two children, Susan and Thomas; grand son-in-law, Allen Harnack; a sister; and several brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ANN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 N. Van Buren St.,Stoughton, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, with Monsignor Gerard Healy presiding. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at church. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church.
