Gerald M. 'Jerry' Frederick

MADISON-Gerald M. “Jerry” Frederick, age 82, passed away on Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, after a lengthy illness. He was born on Oct. 6, 1929, in Milwaukee, the son of John and Frances (Clemens) Frederick. He was a graduate of Madison West High School. Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Army. Jerry married Elizabeth Heiss on May 29, 1954, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He worked for Webcrafters for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching the Packers and Badgers. Jerry donated many years of service to the East Side Hockey Association, Madison Capitals, VFW Post #7591, and the Elks Club. He was also a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church. He is survived by his children, Carol (Mick) Kalinowski, Sue (Mark) Black, Steve Frederick (Donna), John (Wendy) Frederick, and Joe Frederick; grandchildren, Nicole and Kelly Kalinowski, Jackie (Fred) Prather IV, and Kate and Teak Black; great-grandchild, Keagan Prather; brother, Ken (Annette) Frederick; and sister-in-law, Dolores Frederick. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth “Betty” in 2008; and twin brother, Jack Frederick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, with Father Roger Nilles presiding. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens with military rites being conducted. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, and at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
