MC FARLAND-Elizabeth M. “Betty” Johnson, age 95, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Oak Park Place. She was born on Feb. 29, 1916, in Bruce Crossing, Mich., the daughter of Joseph and Augusta (Rehlich) Keller. Betty was united in marriage to Irving Johnson in Clintonville. Together they farmed in the town of Pleasant Springs. She was a switchboard operator at Wisconsin Bell for 31 years. Betty is survived by her son, Donald (Marilyn) Johnson; seven grandchildren, Shelly (Jeff) Riddle, Doug Hull (Lori), Scott (Jennifer) Hull, Christy (Tim) Leveque, Mark (Sonia) Johnson, Darren (Carmen) Johnson and Amy (Joe)Wilke; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred (LaVern) Keller, and Carl (Fay) Keller; and sister, Delores Sieber. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Irving; daughter, Janice (Jerry) Hull; brother, William; and sister, Helen. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, with the Rev. Larry Sexe presiding. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the National Audubon Society or Dane County Humane Society. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Oak Park staff and Southern Care Hospice staff.
