Obituary

MONONA-Edwin C. Lauersdorf Sr., age 77, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at home. He was born on March 8, 1934, in Juneau, the son of Ferd and Edna (Heintz) Lauersdorf. Edwin worked at Badger Ordnance prior to enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1953. He served in Korea as a heavy equipment operator. After discharge Edwin operated a service station in Juneau. He later worked for Parker Pen in Janesville, and Rock County Electric Co-op. Edwin is survived by his children, Edwin Jr. (Jeannine) of Sun Prairie, Daniel (Vicki) of Mondovi, Beverly (Herb) White of Downing, Barbara (Mike) Nelson of Boyceville and Neil (Cynthia) of Beloit; stepdaughters, Jodi (Phil) Tremain of Florida and Shari (Renee Currie) Roll of Madison; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther Gertsch of Juneau, Ruth (David) Fredrick of Beaver Dam, Bernice (Joe) Planasch of Horicon, and Lillian Steger of Sussex; a brother, Al (Nancy) of Fitchburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Lauersdorf; and brothers-in-law, Paul Gertsch and Fred Steger. Funeral services will be held at RISEN SAVIOR LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5001 Holscher Road, McFarland, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, with the Rev. Nathan Fager presiding. Military rites will be conducted at the church. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
