Laura A. (Schunk) Cross

WAUNAKEE/MADISON - Laura A. (Schunk) Cross, age 92, of Monona, passed away on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at Nazareth House in Stoughton. She was born on Nov. 2, 1919, in Waunakee, the daughter of Fred G. and Mary (Adler) Schunk. Laura married Herman E. Cross on Oct. 21, 1939, in Waunakee. She enjoyed playing golf and cards, was formerly a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Most importantly, Laura was devoted to her family. Laura is survived by three daughters, Pat Class, Sherri Beno and Barb (Marc) Jensen; a son, Ken (Robin) Cross; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Laura was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters, Edna Schunk, Vera Hanson and Alice Langley. Private family services were held. Burial was at St. John’s Cemetery in Waunakee. Laura was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her Cemetery: Burial was at St. John’s Cemetery in Waunakee. Private family services were held.
