Obituary
LODI- Mildred Josephine “Tay” Bruhn, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at home in Lodi. She was born on Dec. 19, 1924, in rural Clyde/Avoca, the daughter of the late Albert and Inger (Jordeth) Olson. Mildred graduated from Lone Rock High School in 1943 and received her pilot’s license making her solo flight on July 12, 1946. On Dec. 7, 1950, she was united in marriage to Charles Bruhn. Mildred is survived by her six children, Katy (Eldon) Collum, Jean (Rick) Pellett, Chuck (Connie) Bruhn, Jim (Jane) Bruhn, John (Sandy) Bruhn and Ingrid (Gene) Fleming; five grandchildren, Billy Elsing (Amber Wiesshoff), Tiffany (Chris) Qualizza, Jimmy, Camille and Courtney Bruhn; sisters-in-law, Irene, Marion and Ethel Olson and Ella McGraw; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; daughter, Mary; six brothers; and four sisters. A Celebration of Mildred's Life will be hosted by her family from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at the residence of her daughter, Katy, 219 Old Settlers Trail, Poynette, Wisconsin. The family would like to send a thank you to Val, Brittany and Anna at the Lodi Good Samaritan Center, and also to Home Health United Hospice for the wonderful care given to Mildred. A special thank you to Emily, her hospice care nurse, and Dr. Fanney at Lodi Medical Center. She loved her family, her politics and her witty sayings that inspired everyone she knew.
A Celebration of Mildred's Life will be hosted by her family from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at the residence of her daughter, Katy, 219 Old Settlers Trail, Poynette, Wisconsin.
