Charles Steven 'Chuck' Williamson

COTTAGE GROVE- Charles Steven “Chuck” Williamson, age 54, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 at University Hospital after he fought a long and courageous battle with heart disease. He was born on May 7, 1957, in Madison, the son of Duane Charles and Edwina (Banfe) Williamson. Chuck graduated from Waterloo High School in 1975. After graduation, he worked as a diesel mechanic for Ruan and then Walgreens. He later worked for CHT Apartment Rentals until July 2010, when his health no longer allowed him to continue to work. On Oct. 24, 1998, he was united in marriage with Kerry Modjeska at Hope Lutheran Church. Chuck dedicated his life to his grandchildren and family, as well as helping others. He was a very loving and caring person. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Kerry; children, Ryan Charles (Traci) Williamson, Stephanie, Jeremy, Stacy and Samantha Schmuhl; grandchildren, Carson, Dylan and Collin Williamson, Hunter, Tyler and Mason Meyers, Jeremy and Madelynn Schmuhl, Damien Johnson, Selestina Bravo, Tiana and Makai Fowler; mother, Edwina “Marge” Williamson; brother, Jerrold (Sonja) Williamson; sister, Karen (fiance Ray Tuschen) Meinholz; mother and father-in-law, Judy and Gerald Modjeska; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Duane Charles Williamson. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 6 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. Chuck’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the University Hospital nursing staff in the Cardiac ICU and to Dr. Margaret Murray, Dr. Takukshi Kohmoto and all of the UW Dialysis team for all their care of Chuck. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.
