Evelyn Alice (Peterson) Hayes

BARABOO-Evelyn Alice (Peterson) Hayes, age 94, of Oak Park Place in Baraboo, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. She was born and raised in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Minnie (Howe) and Charles J.E. Peterson. Evelyn married William Hayes Sr. on Aug. 30, 1941. They had two children, Kathleen Ann and William. Evelyn retired after 21 ½ years of service with the Oak Park District 97, Board of Education in Oak Park, Ill. She is survived by her son, William (Sandy) Hayes; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Giessen; her husband, William; her parents; her sisters, Mabel and Hazel; and brother, Charles. Private family services will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Ill. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
