Obituary

LODI-Harold “Harry” T. Nelson, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 12, 2012, at UW Hospital. He was born on July 23, 1932, in Madison, the son of Jennie (Dahl) and Olaf Nelson. Harold served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean Conflict where he was awarded two purple hearts. After leaving the U.S. Army, he worked for the State of Wisconsin, retiring after 20 years to enjoy life and his family. Harold was an accomplished bowler and loved playing the game, winning many trophies. He was an avid Packers, Badgers, and the Brewers fan. Harold enjoyed reading and loved spending time with his family. Harold will be dearly missed by his wife, Denise; son, Harold Jr. (Debbie); daughter, Cha Cha “Kristi”; stepdaughter, Julie; granddaughters, Meyer and Holly; sisters, Jeanette, Esther, and Corrine; brother, Norm; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loretta; brother, Harold; sister, Pearl; and granddaughter, Caley. Celebration of Life will be held at HAMRE GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 157 S. Main Street, Lodi, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012. The family wishes to thank the UW Hospital, particularly nurses Amy and Kim, for the loving care given to Harold and his family during his last hours.

Cha Cha.... Sorry for your loss...Uncle Harold will be greatly missed, as is Auntie Loretta. They have left me with many great memories. I love you! Wish I could be there with you. XOX, Me
