Marguerite Sumwalt

STOUGHTON-Marguerite Sumwalt, age 93, of Stoughton, formerly of Richland Center, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 10, 1918, the daughter of Verne and Alma (Epright) Dosch. Marguerite was united in marriage to Kenneth Sumwalt and together they raised seven children. She and Ken worked on the farm for many years. Upon moving to Madison, she then worked as department manager at Manchesters and Arlans department stores. Marguerite and Ken attended many flea markets and enjoyed antiquing, furniture restoration and family fishing trips. She was also known for her crafts. Most importantly, Marguerite loved her children, grandchildren, and her many personal friends. She is survived by her children, Shirley (Ron) Noyce of Sun Prairie, Robert (Shari) of Wales, Mass., Kenneth Jr. (Nina) of Shawnee, Okla., Carol Little, Jerry (Helen) and Terry (Debby), all of Stoughton; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Mildred Burns of Mazomanie; brother, Melvin Dosch of Richland Center; son-in-law, Russell Dille; and other relatives and friends. Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Darlene Dille; granddaughter, Rhonda (Noyce) Smith; and brothers, Marvin, Marion and Melbourne. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Highway 51, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. The family wishes to thank Bobbi, Fred and Francie from Southern Care Hospice, Carol Little, and the staff at Nazareth Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care. Cemetery: Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
