Obituary
MADISON-William D. “Bill” Holvenstot, age 73, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012, after a brief illness. He is survived by his son, Steven Holvenstot; daughter, Sabrina Holvenstot; brother, Bob Holvenstot; and sister, Jan Cole. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at noon on Thursday, May 3, 2012. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.

I remember Bill as a great talker and holder of a third degree black belt in aikido. On the morning of the day Martin and I married, Bill was at our house for breakfast; he told me about the benefits of coffee grounds in the garbage disposal! Our thoughts are with you, Steve, Brina, Bill and Jan. May you have many wonderful memories to treasure.

Bill was a very generous, caring neighbor. He was always helping the people who lived on our street. He took care of everyone's yards and driveways throughtout the year. All of the neighbors looked forward to Bill's garden crops each year. Bill was also very intellegent. He will truly be missed.

I was a student of Bill's at the Madison Aikido Club and am sorry to hear of his passing on. He taught me many good things about the art and living a good life. My thoughts are with his family.
