Obituary
MADISON-Donald “Don” H. Thorpe, age 85, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born on September 22, 1926, in Hortonville, the son of Harold and Nina Thorpe. Donald served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II from 1943 until 1945. He married Terry Smith on May 2, 1991. Donald retired from Indianhead Trucklines. After retirement, he worked for Badger Bus Service. Donald was an avid bowler. Donald is survived by his wife, Terry; children, Donnie Thorpe, Tammy (Jim) Booth-Cooley, Amy (Tim) Korody, and April (Chris) Lyke; grandchildren, Hayley, Avery, Ramsey, Chassidy, Cole, Trevor, Richelle, Wilson, Miles, Landry, Michael, Sydney, and Isabelle; sister, Joanne; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Nina; brother, Bruce; and granddaughter, Hayley M. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2012. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to their friends and family for all of their support.
