Hi Ms. Stendahl, Derek, & Heidi-
My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. I do not need to tell you this, as you already well know, Dewey will live on with all of us whose lives he touched over the decades.
I am so grateful I saw Dewey, Cabalka, and Zimmerman a few years ago at Pleasant View when I was "home" visiting my mom and sister, as well as friends, and had an opportunity to talk with all of them. Dewey did not remember me, at first, but as Cabalka reminded him who I was Dewey began to have a faint recollection of me. I do not know if this was true or rather Dewey and/or Cabalka just being nice so that I would not feel bad.
It did not matter because I will never forget Dewey. I told them about our young ladies whom I was coaching in golf at Mt. San Jacinto College and to send me some players--hahahahaha. These young ladies will be playing in the CCCAA Southern California Regional on Monday-Tuesday at San Luis Rey Downs GR that they qualified for after tying for 1st in our Conference and I am going to share a few stories with them about my experiences with Dewey as my coach, and thus Dewey's coaching skills and life teachings will continue to inspire student-athletes, as far away as California, to reach their full potential. If our young ladies can pull off a victory, then Dewey can add California to his list of accomplishments in Wisconsin. Regardless, he will ALWAYS be a WINNER to all of us who had the good fortune to cross paths with him in our life.
Godspeed and my heartfelt best wishes to each of you.

My thoughts are with you, Stendahl family. Mr. & Mrs. Stendahl are pillars in our community, citizens who got involved, who cared about kids and who make a difference in the lives of many. I'm forever grateful for the impact both Dewey and Joyce have had with my kids. ~Blessings~

Dewey was one of my favorite people on this earth, and I will sorely miss him. He was what every man should aspire to be, a loving husband and father, a friend to many, and a man of honor and integrity. I was so blessed to call him my friend for so many years.

Ms. Stendahl,
I was made aware of the passing of Mr. Stendahl this evening and it caused me to reflect on what a wonderful man he was. I remember being in grade school and Mr. Stendahl inviting me to your home for pizza before giving me the honor of being his ball boy for the basketball team. Mr. Stendahl always made time for me but more importantly he seemed to really care about every kid in his gym classes. There are a handful of people that you look back to your childhood and say to yourself I really admired that guy. Mr. Stendahl was one of those people. I send my best to you and your family during this difficult time. Take care- Jeff

So sorry for your lost. I know what it is like to lose your husband so early in life. I was a classmate of Dewey's and lived in the same town. Again you have my deepest sympathy.

Dear Joyce and family,
I am so saddened to hear of the loss of Dewey. You have all been in my thoughts the past several years, and I am sure that your care of Dewey has been constant and loving. I will always remember Dewey as a kind and fair soul, which was so often demonstrated the year he coached my son in golf at MHS. I am sure many are richer for having been recipients of Dewey's kind spirit, and I hope your own memories will lift you up during this difficult time.
