The entire Hawgs Organization including our Players, Staff, Fans and Ownership extend our deepest sympathies to Fred's family during this difficult time. Fred had become an infectious personality within our team quickly becoming a team leader and helping to coach us and prepare us for a game he was very much looking forward too in Dec at the Metrodome. Even though it was the home of the Vikings and he was a Packers Fan, I believe Fred found solace in the Dome as a Packer Fan as he played a pivotal role in our National Nineman Championship Title we won in July 2012. Fred you will be forever missed and never forgotten. Love - Boss Hawg

We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the family, friends, and teamates of Fred Statz. He will be greatly missed as not only an outstanding football player, but more importantly as a great person. Fred brought so much energy and leadership to our team (South Central Hawgs)that his presence will be felt forever. A motivator, a leader, a young man of character well beyond his years. He will be missed by all. Fred's parents, siblings and extended family should be proud of the impact this young man had on so many lives in such a short time. May God be with you all during this difficult time.

Fred was a man of great moral character and lived his life like most people wish they could live theirs. He always put forth his best effort in everything he did and had great passion and enthusiasm for everything he did in life. In my 2 years knowing him at MSU-Mankato he became a great friend to me, always being there, having a good laugh and pushing me to become better. I am blessed for knowing him and hope I can live my life with the same enthusiasm and character he did. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and know that even though we don't know it God has a reason he took Fred from us too soon. Trust in the Lord and know the Fred is in His presence.
