Obituary

Pat, loving wife of Edwin and mother to Edwin P., and Christopher, passed away on November 12, 2012. Pat is also survived by her stepdaughters, Andrea DeMeo and Diane Leonik and her granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Kallie, and her sister Georgeann O’Leary. Pat was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 26, 1942. She and her family moved to Middleton in 1982. Pat was an accomplished pastoral counselor and took great joy in helping others who needed spiritual guidance and assistance with their life’s difficulties. She has helped many people through crises of faith and life circumstances. Pat earned her Bachelor Degree of Theology from Kingsway Christian College and Seminary and became an ordained minister of the Gospel. She was a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor. She was an active member of the Gateway Community Church and served as the Missions Board Chairperson. Pat served as a leader of missions and project manager for numerous foreign missions and building projects. She coordinated the Haiti mission trips that resulted in an increase in the number of children able to attend a new Christian-based private school in Ouanaminthe, Haiti to 2,000 students from an original base of 12 children. She assisted on a project leadership team for the construction of a medical clinic in Haiti. She was also active in mission projects in the Ukraine, Romania, Russia and various Third World countries. Pat worked for the Wisconsin Public Defenders Office for 23 years as a legal secretary. She was recognized for her service to the community by the Rubin Society of the Office of the Wisconsin State Public Defender by awarding membership to her in 1997. She also received a Certificate of Commendation from the Wisconsin Office of the Governor in recognition of her distinguished service and dedication to the State Public Defender Appellate Division in Madison and her commitment to public service. Pat will be greatly missed by her family and numerous friends. There will be a celebration of Pat’s life at Gateway Community Church in Middleton at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 17, 2012 following the burial service at Middleton Junction Cemetary at 9:30 am.

To Patricia's family, I was deeply saddened to see her name in the obituaries today. Although I only knew your family for a few months, I always enjoyed seeing all of you when you would come in for her appointments. She will be missed. My deepest sympathies are with you all...
