MADISON-On Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and niece ended her long journey with Alzheimer’s disease and began her journey to join her parents in heaven. Christie Lynn (McMillan) Wolfe was born on July 3, 1951, in Madison, the daughter of Betty and Mac McMillan. She went to St. Bernard Grade School, and graduated from East High School in 1969. Christie married Charles “Chuck” Wolfe on April 17, 1971, and they had two children, Jodi Lynn (Toby) Golembiewski and their children, Max and Sophie, and Scott (Chelan) Wolfe and their children Carter, Caden, and Sienna. She is further survived by her sisters, Pam McMillan (Jon Brickner) and Mary Jo Muenkel (Fred); special aunt and best friend, Marilyn Mergen; mother-in-law, Mary Wolfe; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donnie; father-in-law, Charles Wolfe Sr.; maternal grandparents, Mickey and Marian Mergen; and paternal grandparents, Clara and Fred McMillan. Christie had many jobs over the years. Her love of children led her to her position as a special education assistant in the MMSD. Christie enjoyed attending her kids sporting events, and she never missed any of them. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Avenue, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, with Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711. A special thanks to the staff at Walnut Grove, especially TaLana, Arlene, Randy, and Abdel, and Agrace HospiceCare for all their wonderful care.

Chris was a 2nd mother to me when I was little. Her daughter was a good friend and I share many wonderful memories of time spent with Chris. She was a loving mother who always made me feel welcome in her home. God took back a special soul, but I know Chris will be watching over her family and enjoying all their special moments. Prayers to Chuck, Jodi, Scott, and all of her family. Thank you all for letting me be a part of your lives. Chris, you will be missed by all!

So sorry to read about the passing of Chris--what a sad time for all of your family. I have a sister struggleing with the same disease and it is tough to watch. Seems just like yesterday we were all playing baseball and having so much fun. Just know that old friends are thinking of you and wishing you peace.

Dear Chuck, I am so saddened and shocked to hear of Chris's passing. I will always consider her as a good friend and one of my favorite people. The last time I saw her was at the zoo with you and the grandchildren having a great time. I will keep that memory close. I pray for your family and for the priviledge of knowing her. Chuck, I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember the great times we had with you and Chris when the kids were young. Our paths led in different directions but we will always think of you and Chris as best friends. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
