Obituary
MONONA/MADISON-Florence M. “Flo” Minor, age 92, of Monona, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Harmony Living Center in McFarland. She was born on May 4, 1920, on the family farm in Bristol, the daughter of Peter and Nettie (Johnson) Wangsness. Flo was a very independent person, moving to Arizona on her own at a young age. She moved back to Wisconsin and met her future husband and married Vernon Minor on May 1, 1943, in Madison. Flo was a wonderful homemaker and mother. She was a member of Monona Evangelical Lutheran Church. Flo enjoyed music, vegetable gardening, visiting and sharing numerous stories, cooking, fishing at the cabin, and traveling. Her faith and family were the most important things in her life. Flo is survived by her daughter, Joy (Don) Hamburg of Sun Prairie; two grandsons, Vincent and Brian LaMore; and a great-granddaughter, Karhma LaMore. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2010; her parents; sisters, Irene Ellingson, Alice Larson, Aletta Harbort, and Gladys Johnson; and brothers, Olin, Clarence, Lawrence, and Russell Wangsness. Funeral services will be held at Monona Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4411 Monona Drive, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, with the Rev. William J. Pekari presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Monona Evangelical Lutheran Church or Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI. 53711. A special thanks to Harmony of McFarland for the loving care given to her, and the staffs at AgraceHospiceCare and Care Wisconsin.
