LODI/WAUZEKA-Gregory Stuart Herwig, age 60, of Wauzeka, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at his home. He was born on March 23, 1952, in Madison, the son of Roger and Joyce (Mahlke) Herwig. Greg graduated from Lodi High School in 1970. He was employed at Design Homes in Prairie du Chien. Greg was an avid hunter and also enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. His favorite way to spend his time was with his family and friends. Greg is survived by his children, Heather (Darin) Lowe, Amy (Joshua) Pfaff, and Emily Herwig; grandchildren, Lily and Charlotte Lowe; mother, Joyce Hillestad; siblings, Joan Herwig (Carole Magilton) , Jill (Nick) Bjornstad, Steve (Karen) Herwig, Pat Treinen (Jan Marlett), Brian (Karen) Herwig, Randy (Carol) Herwig, and Sarah Herwig (Peter Anderson); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger. Funeral services for Greg will be held at LODI UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 130 Locust St., Lodi, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, with Marge Rice Myers presiding. Private burial will be at Garden Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from noon until the time of service on Thursday. To the family of Gregory Herwig, I had worked with Greg for 5 Years he was a very kind and caring person I worked close with him I iwll miss him very much he loved and cared for his family very much. He also loved that yellow truck of his I hope you keep it running as well as he did he drove that thing to work as much as he could god bless and my deepest sympathy to you all. I am really going to miss him.
