Richard D. 'Dick' Damon

MADISON-Richard D. “Dick” Damon, age 73, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on Feb. 28, 1940, in Highland, the son of Jerry and Gladys (Gabler) Damon. Dick graduated from Muscoda High School. He married Janet Kroll on May 11, 1968. Dick worked for Oscar Mayer Foods for more than 30 years, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Dick is survived by his children, Dan (Sheri), Michelle (Cory Mitchell), and Derek (Shannon Moon); grandchildren, Kylie Damon, Raegan Mitchell, Timm (Danielle) Brown, and Travis “T.J.” (Nikki) Brown; sister, Lois Will; brothers, Ed (Ann) Damon and Merle “Butch” Damon; sisters-in-law, Linda Damon, Mary Lou (Chuck) Lugge, Jane Kroll, and Kathleen McGill; brothers-in-law, Rick Kroll, Jim Kroll, and George Goodwin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Damon; his parents, Jerry and Gladys Damon; brother, William “Bill” Damon; father-in law and mother-in-law, Gerald and Ann Marie Kroll; sisters-in-law, Bev Damon, Nancy Goodwin, Marilyn Delkamp, and Wanda Kroll; and brothers-in-law, Otto Will, Don Delkamp, Bill McGill, and Jerry Kroll. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013, with the Rev. Sandra Schieble presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013, and also from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
