Obituary
MADISON/ MONONA – Charles L. Schepp died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 87, on Saturday, May 11, 2013, after a brief bout with cancer. He was born in Wausau on July 9, 1925. He married Matilda ‘Tooty’ E. Frey on June 28, 1947 in Roxbury. Charles was a proud man to have served in the Naval Air Corps during World War II stationed out of Hawaii. He retired from Nagel Hart/Fabco after forty-three years, serving as parts manager. He also volunteered faithfully at St. Mary’s auxiliary for many years. Charles was most proud of his large family of ten children, twenty-four grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He enjoyed family and friends, gardening, fishing, working at his computer, playing euchre, family gatherings and not to forget his ‘Bloody Mary’s’. Charles was a wonderful husband to Tooty for over sixty-five years and a faithful Catholic at Immaculate Heart of Mary parish. He loved teasing his grandkids, always ready for a good time and an all around good hearted soul. He will be greatly missed. Charles is survived by his wife, Matilda; brother, Lorrin (Vernice); sons, Richard (Donna), Michael (Diane), Randy (Deb), Mark (Sally), Jeff (JoAnn) and Chuck (Cindy); daughters, Anne (Denny) Simon, Mary (Jay) Droster, Joan (Nathan) Gast, Katie (Brian) Bierman; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mabel Schepp; brother, Duane Schepp; granddaughters, Emily Schepp and Pamela Schepp; father and mother-in-law, George and Anna Frey; and brothers-in-law, George Jr. and Ralph Frey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding.
