Obituary
MADISON-Michael J. Herale, age 64, passed away at UW Hospital on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 17, 1949, to Joseph and Lois (Schwartz) Herale. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Virginia (Doucette) on June 12, 1971, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Madison. Together they raised two lovely daughters, Jaime and Michele. Mike enjoyed and participated in many sports throughout his life, achieving perfection in several. He had pitched a no hitter, bowled several perfect games, and twice scored a hole in one. He was an avid fan of car racing. For the past 50+ years, he enjoyed attending the Midget car races at Angel Park in Sun Prairie. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His brother, Stephan Herale (Terra Lee) and sister, Tami Olbrecht (Denny) had the opportunity to share his interests and spend good quality time with him. He holds a special place in the hearts of all his Doucette in-laws. Mike is survived by his wife, Ginny; daughters, Jaime Perez and Michele (Gordon) Clifford; special grandchildren, Carlos Perez, Ava and Tucker Clifford; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clifford (Pam Redding) Doucette, Steven (Linda Peterson) Doucette, Rick Jahn, Raymond (Peggy) Doucette, Edward (Julie) Doucette, Jill Doucette, Paul (Diana) Doucette, Rose (Mike Rowland) Doucette, Elizabeth (James) Moore, Adajo Doucette-Foerster and Bill (Tammy) Doucette; and all his much loved godchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lois Herale; in-laws, Joseph and Ada Doucette, Cecelia Jahn, Joey Doucette, and George Doucette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Avenue, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday. The family would like to acknowledge his special cheering section, Dr. Peter Idsvoog and Dr. Tom McFarland and their staff whom kept Mike going at full tilt for the past 12+years. Although we hadn't seen Mike in several years we will remember our trips to Door County with him, Ginny, my Uncle Greg and wife Sharon. I enjoyed golfing and spending time with Mike. He always helped make the trip enjoyable. Brenda and Mike always had a competition to see who could fill their soup bowl the fullest at one of the restaurants in Door County. The winner was usually a toss up but it was good fun to see them try and out do each other. Mike will be sorely missed and always remembered. Rick & Brenda Fox
