Obituary

MADISON-Ami Lemberger of Madison, passed away on Memorial Day 2013. Ami was an artist. She combined oils and acrylics that created paintings you can look at a hundred times and still see something in it that makes you say, 'Wow'! Ami used her palette of color and people and food and love and beauty and sympathy and generosity to create a life that was much greater than the sum of its parts. She had a very accessible kind of magic this way and we saw it when one friend dropped by or when she had a houseful. You just had to feel better for having been in her company. And we were. And we will miss it. Born Alma Marian Pedracine, she was known as Ami. She was well loved by her husband of many years, Joseph Victor Lemberger and somewhere they are smiling at each other and dancing together again. Ami is survived by her five children, Joe and Karen of Summerfield, Fla., Tom of Tucson, Ariz., Mark and Penny of York, S.C., Therese and Roger of Madison, and Jim and Patty of Oregon. Ami is also survived by nine grandchildren, Theresa, Paige and Michelle, Rachel and Corlissa, Tiffany, Christopher, Josh and Nikki; thirteen great-grandchildren, Nathan and Aidan, Megan and Cole, Jake and Luke, Coby and Aryanna and Jayden and Jax, Aerralynn, Anneliese and Alexis; brother, Bud (Marguerite) Pedracine; and her sister, Alice (Ray) Antoneiwicz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday. Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare. Ami was an artist, a wife, a Mom, a sister, daughter, Grandma, aunt and an amazing friend to a lot of people. She did this with a lot of class. What a gal. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care 5203 Monona Drive (608) 221-5420 Cemetery: Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. I have been out of town and just returned tonight, the 30th. I am so sorry that I am unable to attend Ami's services. Ami was on the first board of directors of the Wisconsin Alliance of Artists and Craftspeople, Inc., a 501(C)3 tax-exempt organization for artists and sponsors of the Art Fair Off the Square and the Winter Art Fair Off the Square. Ami played a very important role in the early years of WAAC and the summer art fair. Each year, at our fair in July, a juror selects the Best of Category, which includes one for painting. I am donating $50 for that category, which will be In Memory of Ami Lemberger. Ami was one of the most positive people I ever met.

Dear Lemberger Family, Sorry I could not be with you to celebrate your Mom's life today. It is a 300 mile drive for me and I was just in Madison last weekend to visit my folks. I always felt comfortable walking in on Ami when she was sitting in the corner painting at the house on Garfield St. With Dad always tinkering around in Grandpa's old shop, it was kinda nice to see that the family was still centered around that familiar turf. The last time I saw your Mom she remarked that she never thought she would be around past 90. Her presence always reminded me of large family gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Those days are long gone with all of us having our own families. Let's face it, Ami loved to talk, but she also gave comfort and support. She loved to paint and create. Not bad attributes for a long life well lived. We will miss her...Steve, Letty, Caitlin and Nathalie

So sorry to hear of the passing of beautiful gentle Ami. She always brighten our day when we visited with her. I always think of Ami when I look at the painting of my children done by Jan Biggers, who Ami introduced me to. Then Ami took care of the framing. Our sympathies to all the family.
