Dad,
You haven't been gone but two days and already I miss you more than anything I've ever experienced. There are a thousand things that I feel like are unresolved, but I know that's just the grief I'm feeling, playing with my mind. I know you loved me, and you know I loved you, in those last moments, that's all that matters. I know the time we got to spend together these last few years, including the time and effort you expended on me while I was away, even though you were ill, some how brought us a little closer together, even as close as I always hoped to be. And the day you passed on, I'm so unbelievably grateful I was there to hold your hand.
I miss you with all my heart,,, But I know you're in a better place, a place with no pain, and I'm going to be ok.
Your son, Lou
