I was sorry to hear about Doug's passing. He was a great, lifelong friend to my Dad, Lowell. I remember him as a friendly, funny and thoughtful man. I've known him my whole life and it's sad to know he's gone. My thoughts and prayers are with the family now.

My wife,Barbara, and I are saddened by the loss of Doug, one of our great friends. It was always heartening and a pleasure to work with him throughout his teaching and coaching career. And, he deserved every honor and accolade he received. Doug may have been short in stature, but he was outstanding in friendship. We considered him one of Madison's "most special."
