Obituary

OREGON-Genevieve “Gen” Ellen Snow, age 89, of Oregon, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on Nov. 14, 1923, in Crawford County, Kan., the daughter of Leonard and Antonia (Werbish) Besson. She married Donald William Snow and he preceded her in death in 1973. Genevieve was a certified “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II in California. Gen was a longtime employee of WPS Insurance Company. Genevieve also worked at Oregon Manor Nursing Home, Oregon School District, and was also the owner/operator of Valley Bar in Valley. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Genevieve loved the outdoors, especially working on her yard. She is survived by sons, James (Jennifer) Snow of Oregon and Donald (Marilyn Allen) Snow of Oregon; granddaughter, Jessica Snow of Oregon; great-granddaughter, Jordyn Carow; former daughter-in-law, Shelley Snow; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Gen was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Tony, Ed, Leonard, and Joe; and sisters, Velma and Augusta. A Celebration of Life will be held at her home, 295 N. Main St. Oregon, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013. A private family burial will be held at Valley Cemetery in Vernon County. Memorials may be made to Dane County Humane Society for the love of her pets. Jim, So sorry to hear of your mothers passing. I never had the pleasure of meeting her personally but I always wanted to stop and tell her how beautiful I thought her flowers were. I would always look to see what was blooming at her house as I'd drive by. She will be missed by all the lives she touched including those who she touched only by those beautiful flowers in her yard.

Marilyn and Don, So sorry to hear about Jen. She was such a remarkable lady. I am glad that I got to know her. She will be missed by many. I can see her picking weeds in the driveway and she loved her flowers and her house. You both have taken such good care of her and she is in heaven now.

So sorry to haar about Gen ,i remenber taking my mom done to the waterfall,and family restrants and seeing Gen there with her social gratherings she was a cool little lady,a hard lady to keep down alwas busy,she had a great life and now its time to enjoy heaven and other family menbers she hasn't seen in a while. god bless you all, daryl,cindy booth
