Obituary
SALT LAKE CITY, UT-Tom G. Taylor passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born in Madison on Aug. 1, 1967, to Gordon and Darlene Taylor. Tom was a graduate of LaFollette High School in Madison, and UW Madison where he obtained his mechanical engineering degree. He then obtained his masters degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Utah. Tom started his work career at Medtronic in Grand Rapids, Minn., with stops at Cardiac Assist Technologies in Pittsburg, Pa., Biomedical Engineering Solutions, Sorenson Medical, Moog Medical, Larada Sciences, and all of Salt Lake City before his final position as Director of Service and Repair for Idaho Technology, Inc., which recently changed its name to BioFire Diagnostics. He is survived by his mother, Darlene Taylor of Madison; brother, Tim of Cedar Park, Texas; sisters, Connie and Cathi of Sacramento, Calif.; Christi (Dan) of Green Lake; nephew, T.J. Scholl (Heather); nieces, Stephanie Taylor-Fulton of Sacramento, Calif., Whitney Taylor-Imura of LaFayette, Calif., and Ellis Taylor of Cedar Park, Texas; great-nephew, Gage of Fond du Lac; and great-niece, Peyton of Fond du Lac. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Gordan; and sister, Kim. Tom will be greatly missed by his family and his work family at BioFire. He loved his work and was an avid Badger fan and golfer in Salt Lake City.

Tom, i thought i would have years with you but we never know when our last day on earth will be. Apparently, you have finished your mission. Great smile, great sense of humor ( the Taylor way) ane lots of fond memories, and a bunch of your quirky jokes will keep me on hold until i see you and dad again.

Sorry to hear that Tom passed. We went to LVM together; I remember Tom the most in 5th grade, telling Johnny Carson's monologue in front of the class. Still remember the we bulls wobble, but don't fall down joke he told. John Sleiziz

I haven't seen Tom since college. I have often wondered what happened to him. This was not the way I hoped to find out. He was a good guy.

Tom and I played football together,Many shared car rides and talks. He was truly one of the nicest guys in the world.Thoughts and prayers to the Taylor family . The world is not as cool without Tom in it !
