Obituary
VERONA-Michael Alan Kilmer, age 46, of Verona, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013. After 20 long years battling MS, Michael peacefully left us to be without pain. We will miss him dearly and there will always be a part of his spirit in all of us. Michael was born on December 13, 1966, in Viroqua, to Jerry and Gloria (Parr) Kilmer. He graduated from Viroqua High School in 1985, and Western Wisconsin Technical College in 1987. Michael worked for Strand and Associates in Madison until MS made it impossible to continue working. His purpose in life then became making all those who knew him happy. He touched everyone who ever had the opportunity to meet him.
Michael is survived by the love of his life, his wife Lisa (Olson) Kilmer; his parents; his mother and father in law, Ellsworth and Ardith Olson of Viroqua; sisters- in-law, Lori Duffy (Mike) of South Beloit, Ill. and Lynn Olson of Soldiers Grove; nieces and nephews, Amanda, Cyle, Marie, Kelsey, and Quinten; great-nieces and nephew, Ethan, Lilly and Marley; Godparents, Cheryl and Bill Jenkins of West Salem; aunts and uncles, Donnie and Helen Parr, Doris and Harlan Parr, Duane Parr, Gaylerd Parr, David Kilmer, Myron Kilmer, Betty Kilmer, and Diane Kilmer; cousins; and very special friends, Michelle and Gene Viney, Kevin Frey, and David Zavadsky. He will be greatly missed by his cats, Simon and Munchkin. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Thelma Kilmer and Edmund and Pearl Parr; uncles, Jon and Laverne Kilmer; and aunts, Dorothy Parr, Audrey Parr, Shirley Kilmer, and Joanne Kilmer; as well as his kitty, Mattie.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at FIREMAN’S PARK in Verona, from 2 until 5 p.m. On-line condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I am sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I enjoyed having him as a classmate at Viroqua and spent quite a bit of time around him anytime there was an alaphebetical line formed. Best wishes to Lisa and Mike's extended family.
