William "Bill" D. Heine

MADISON-William D. “Bill” Heine, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare with his family by his side. He was born on July, 11, 1932, son of William and Margaret (Ryan) Heine. He married Sharon Touchstone in 1955, and Joan Majernik in 1963. Bill was twice widowed. He studied jewelry and watch making and spent one year of college at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. after high school. Bill was enlisted for four years in the U.S. Air Force as a jet mechanic and then as a mechanical instructor. He retired from IBM with 25 plus years, followed by seven years with Kodak as a service manager. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member at the American Legion, Post No. 2930. Bill enjoyed the outdoors and time at his cabin in Jackson County. He enjoyed listening to folk music and his family playing music around the campfire. His passion was spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bill is survived by his children, Beth (Clayton) Klotz, William Jr. “Dan” (Debbie) Heine, Meg (Tim) Charek, and Mark (Angela) Heine; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Cornelieus Heine; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both wives, Sharon and Joan; daughter, Judith; granddaughter Megan; and parents, William and Margaret. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, with Father Joji Reddy Allam presiding. Entombment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Military Honors . A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Agrace HospiceCare. Bill will always be remembered for his kind heart, generosity, loyalty and care giving.
