Obituary
MONONA-Lulu Belle A. “Lu” Schroeder, age 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born on Oct. 20, 1937, in Bovina, WI, the daughter of Emerald and Anna Schultz. Lulu was married to Ronald “Ron” Schroeder on June 15, 1957, in Brillion. Lu taught elementary school for 17 years, then changed careers and entered the business world. She retired from Equifax in 2003. After retirement, Lu volunteered at St. Stephen’s in the food pantry, and was involved in many aspects of church. She is survived by her husband, of 56 years; daughter, Debra (Curt) McCann; son, David (Denise) Schroeder; and three granddaughters, Nicole, Marissa and Marina; sisters, Eileen Schuh of Brillion, Pearl Schnieder, Alice Duellman of Manitowoc, and Patricia (Wendell) Ott of Stoughton; brother, Melvin (Carol) Schultz of Neenah; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Helen Eckberg; an infant brother, Randall Schultz; and several brother-in laws. Funeral Services will be held at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 5700 Pheasant Hill Road, Monona, on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Hansen and the Rev. Nick Uphall presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lu’s name to St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Agrace HospiceCare or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank Agrace HospiceCare, especially Shannon and Amanda, as well as Dr. Sheehan from UW Carbone Cancer Center. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
