LYBECK, JR., JOHN R.
MADISON/WAUNAKEE-John R. Lybeck, Jr., age 83, of Waunakee and Madison, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at the V.A .Hospital. He was born on May 18, 1930, in Madison, the son of John R. and Charlotte (Kelly) Lybeck. John married Donna Fetty on Oct. 21, 1950, in Madison. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. John is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Dennis (Mary), Ken (Charmaine) and Tom (Lisa); grandchildren, Shonna (Steve) Schauf, Dustin (Aurora), Marissa, Kellen, Nathan, Natalie and Travis Lybeck; step-grandchildren, Nicholas (Aislinn) Schultz, Tim (Megan) Schulz, Kurt (Julie) Utter, and Kelly (Tim) Edwards; great-grandchildren, Addison and Brody Schauf; step-great-grandchildren, Devan, Emily and McKenna Utter, and Katrina and William Edwards; and a brother, Walter (Jan). Private family services will be held. The family would like to thank the staff at the Madison V.A. Hospital for their care of Dad and Grandpa. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Aunt Donna and Family, I am truly sorry to hear of Uncle John's passing may he rest peacefully.
My fondest memory of the whole family is on Christmas Eve many years ago as we opened our door and your whole family was singing a Christmas carol. We also spent many fun summers up on the farm in Boscobel those are true memories that last a life time. My sympathy to you and all of my cousins I know John will be missed. God bless,

I am so very grateful to have grown up with the Lybeck family. I have always felt such warmth and welcoming from Johna and Donna into their home. I am so appreciative how accepting John and Donna were of the Lybeck boys' friends. I truly enjoyed hanging out at the Lybeck house. Big John was always so warm and friendly and quick to laugh. It still amazes me of their sweet willingness to accept even the "wayward" friends that passed through the Lybeck's doors, like, Wire or Wally...My deepest sympathies and joyful remembrances of life with John and Donna, it couldn't have been better! Memories upon memories will always live in my heart at my time at 1506 National Avenue. Love, Bert
