Haak, Gertrude M. “Trudi”
MIDDLETON-Gertrude M. “Trudi” Haak, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014. She was born on June 23, 1927, to Alfred and Martha Stucki. She married Ken Haak on Nov. 9, 1947, who preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2013. When the youngest of their three children started school, Trudi started working in food service at James Madison Memorial High School. She worked there for 35 years, retiring in 2005. Trudi and Ken loved to travel and especially enjoyed their many trips to Switzerland. She was proud to have learned the Swiss language and culture from her parents. Trudi also enjoyed recalling her happy childhood, growing up in a farm family of eight kids. Trudi is survived by her son, Randy (Bernie) Haak; a daughter, Diane (Bruce) Emden; son, Larry Haak (Rebecca Fox); two grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; three sisters; and two brothers. A family memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON MIDDLETON FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Private burial will be held at Middleton Junction Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
