James H. Powell

MADISON-James Harold Powell, age 83, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014. He was born on May 28, 1931, the son of William and Josephine (Chille) Powell. He married Marjorie Anderson in 1955. James grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison East High School. He joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War. James is survived by his sons, Randy Powell and his children, Emily and William; and Jeff Powell; and his sister, Jane. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie in 1989; and sisters, JoAnn, June, and Jean; and brother, Johnny. A memorial gathering will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from noon until 2 p.m., with military honors being conducted at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.
