Obituary

VanWitzenburg, Robyn Lynn (Gundersen) CHICAGO / MADISON – Robyn Lynn (Gundersen) VanWitzenburg, age 55, died peacefully on Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Robyn was born on Sept. 15, 1958, at Fort Campbell, Ky. A “Screaming Eagle” from the start to the very end. The family motto of, “Gotta Go, Can’t Quit,” served her well in her final days. We only have respect and admiration for the way Robyn handled her fight to survive cancer. Robyn attended grammar school and high school in Richardson, Texas. She earned her Cosmetology license and worked for salons in California and Wisconsin. Robyn also owned and operated White Glove Cleaning Service in Verona. She is survived by her parents, Ken and Patricia Gundersen; her daughter, Lauren VanWitzenburg; brothers, Kevin (Sharon) Gundersen and their children, Hannah, Garrett, Gunner and Grant and Kurt (Tina) Gundersen and their sons, Brenton and Timothy; sister, Karen (Brad) Weisbrod and their children, Sydnie, Demi and Zoe. Robyn was preceded in death by two daughters; Danielle, 6 months, and Devan Marie, 22 years. A Private Family Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made directly to Agrace HospiceCare. Special thanks to the staff at the UW Carbone Center and Agrace HospiceCare; especially JoAnn Elfman, BSN, Robyn’s angel. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. “On golden wings The angels soar watching us forevermore From their viewpoint In the air A better place Than what was there On golden wings, The angels fly shooting stars across the sky Life's burdens around their feet And we'll meet them there When our life's complete On golden wings, The angels dance Happy the deceits Of life are past They're past the toils, Past the snares Happy now In heaven at last On golden wings, The angels rise Leaving withered bodies behind Living forever in our souls They're still here, Just invisible, you know” ― Testy McTesterson I love you Robyn and will forever cherish our childhood memories... Robyn: Thank you for sharing your beauty, strength, and courage...your legacy will live forever in our hearts!!!! Love always, Jeannie Fitzgibbon ******************************************************************** AN IRISH BLESSING In memory of Robyn: God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered “Come to Me” With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands at rest God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best!!!!
