Robert "Bob" Steven Verbanac Jr.

VERBANAC JR, ROBERT “BOB’, STEVEN MADISON/LODI/WEST BEND/HARTFORD/SLINGER-Robert “Bob” S. Verbanac Jr., age 62, passed away at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital on Friday, September 5, 2014 in Madison, WI from complications during his recovery from an esophagectomy to remove an esophageal cancer tumor. He was the son of Robert and Shirley (Brussell) Verbanac of Hartford, WI. Bob graduated from Hartford High School in 1970 and later served in the United States Army. He worked as a Tool & Die Machinist for most of his life at Briggs & Stratton and at Gehl Co. Bob was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed music, hunting, fishing, woodworking and bird watching. He was also a positive influence within the AA community and consistently demonstrated a kind and welcoming presence. Bob is survived by his three children, Colleen Verbanac of Lodi, WI, Jason Verbanac and Anthony Verbanac of Waupaca, WI; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Michele Verbanac of Hartford; two grandchildren, Zachary O’Connor and Lacy Verbanac; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Shirley Nickel and Robert Verbanac Sr.; his grandparents; step father Roland Nickel; one brother John Verbanac and one sister Nancy Towers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at ST. KILIAN’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 264 West State St., Hartford, WI 53027, at 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the church. Funeral Liturgy Service will begin at 3:00 pm with Father David officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Kilian’s Cemetery.
