Obituary
Brown Santoro, Francesca Elise
MADISON-On Tuesday, Sept 9, 2014, at 3:01 p.m. our beloved Francesca Elise Brown Santoro was stillborn and left this world at 36 weeks of pregnancy. The Sunday prior, her heart stopped beating for no known reason and she was born a beautiful, perfect angel at 5 lb 14 ounces, and 18 inches long. We were blessed to be able to give her the natural birth we had envisioned for her- it was peaceful and silent. She is survived by her father, Filippo Santoro and mother, Laura Brown of Madison; grandparents, Laurence and Darlene Brown of Taunton, Mass., and Anna Santoro of Rome, Italy; great-grandparents, George and Louise Brown of Rochester, N.Y.; and aunts, Jennifer Gardner, Wendy Brown, and Giusy and Carmen Santoro. Francesca was a gift who allowed us to experience the miracle of birth and face the mystery of death in the few fleeting moments we held her in our arms. We are comforted by the generosity and compassion of the nursing staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, our Doula Lea and Doctor Monica, donations from Mikayla’s Grace, the support of many friends and family and in knowing that love was all Francesca ever knew. A Memorial Service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014. Donations may be made in Francesca’s memory to Mikayla's Grace: /. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I felt compelled to write after reading your sweet daughter's obituary. I am so sorry for your loss. What you wrote in her honor was very touching. You are right - she is beautiful and all she did know was love. May you have peace and comfort in knowing this. Bless you and your family.

I was also compelled to write after reading her obituary. I am deeply sorry for your loss and cannot imagine the heartache you must feeling. My thoughts and prayers will be with you during this very tough time. May you support one another during this very difficult time and reach out to family and friends for support and remember her as the beautiful angel she is who will be watching over and protecting you both. Many blessings to you all!

Laura -
I was so sad to read about losing Francesca. There are no words that can make the pain that you and your husband and baby Francesca's grandparents are feeling. She is truly a beautiful child. I am glad that you had a chance to hold her and say goodbye with love. Did you know that Monarch butterflies are believed to carry the souls of our loved ones who leave us? Monarchs fly south at this time of the year. I will think of her flying with a beautiful monarch each time I see one.Take care of each other and remember her always in your hearts.

Laura,
It is hard for me to know what to say, In my house I have this saying on the wall and a star mobile to represent those close to me that i have lost.
The Eskimo Proverb, “Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.”

Dear parents of Francesca, We read the beautiful story of your daughter and it reminded us of our son who passed at birth. We pray and think of you and your daughter in heaven. Only time can heal this wound. God bless your little Angel in Heaven watching over your family.
