Alberta "Bert" M. Edwardson

EDWARDSON, ALBERTA M. “BERT” DEFOREST - Alberta M. “Bert” Edwardson, age 91, died on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society – Lodi. She was born on March, 12, 1923 in Delavan, WI, the daughter of Merrill and Hilda (Radke) Lackey. Bert graduated from Delavan High School in 1941 and went on to complete her nurses training and was employed at Edgerton Community Hospital. She met Willard P. “Bill” Edwardson in 1945 when he returned home to Edgerton after his discharge from the Army. They were united in marriage on September 21, 1946 and together they owned and operated the Edwardson Funeral Home in DeForest for over 40 years. Family was always the most important part of her life and she was very proud of her roles as wife, mother and grandmother. Bert is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Rich) Edge; a son, Peter (Annette) Edwardson; a son-in-law, Bob Jungemann; six grandchildren, Lisa Jungemann, Brad Jungemann, Eric (Dawn) Edge, Kyle (Jessica) Edge, Graham Edwardson and Morgan Edwardson; five great grandchildren, Angelica, Felicia, Manuel, Blake and Brayden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her daughter, Cathleen and a sister Elizabeth. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH in DeForest with Reverend Sara Gillespie officiating. Burial will be at Norway Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Saint Jude Hospice.
