Holmes, Dennis “Denny” JANESVILLE/MADISON- Dennis “Denny” Holmes, age 55, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at Karmenta Center in Madison. He was born on March 6, 1959, in Janesville, the son of Alvin and Irene (Babb) Holmes. He married Victoria Meixner on May 20, 2000, in DeForest. Denny graduated from Janesville Parker High School where he was an outstanding basketball player. Later he attended MATC in Madison. He was an avid Packers, Brewers, and Phoenix Suns fan. Denny enjoyed watching the news, playing cards, and going to the casino, but his passion was woodworking. Family was important to Dennis. He is survived by his wife Victoria; step-sons, Gary Johnson, Lonnie Brown and Corey (Tiffany) Johnson; his step-daughter, Charlena Brown; and his sons, Andrew (Angela) Holmes and Ryan Holmes; grandchildren, Isaiah and Isabelle; mother, Irene, brothers, Donald, Kenneth (Lynella), Gene (Pat), Phillip (Olive), David (Beverly), Jerry (Pat), and Robert (Ann); many nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Homer. Denny was preceded in death by his father; and sister, Sandra. Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at Noon on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014. Burial will take place at Windsor North Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. I would like to send my condolences and prayers to Dennis' family, I am sure he is going to be dearly missed by all!!! Unfortunately I will not be able to make the service to bid Dennis farewell, but will take time Monday to remember what a GREAT person Dennis was,, he was always respectful, fun, outgoing, upbeat and just a great guy to be around. RIP and please watch out for all of your friends and family from above!!!!!!!!!

Vicki, I am so sorry for your loss. :-( I have always wondered how you and Denny were doing. I remember so many times from working with him, he was so tall and thin and so funny :-) He used to tease me so much. (I would think he was mad and then realize he was making fun of me!!!) I pray for you and yours, again, I am so sorry. Another good man gone too soon..............
