My grandmother, along with my grandfather, created a strong foundation for their family. They were steadfast presences for their children and their grandchildren. She was always in touch and ready to offer support, whether emotional, spiritual or temporal; and she did her part to implant in all of us the importance of education to life's success. Not to forget that she made the best candy for Christmas! There is so much that I am grateful for that my grandmother gifted me with, but two that are at the top of my list are the role model that she was as a strong woman who also made sure that everyone was well cared for, and the heritage that she created for us as she served God and Jesus Christ.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Marjorie, but if she is half the woman that her daughter Jill is then she must have been a wonderful person. Jill, you and all of your family are remembered in my prayers. Remember that it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Mom was always very positive. She always looked at problems as being surmountable. She believed in prayer and putting things in Gods' hands. She was encouraging to her family members when they had troubles. She loved nature. . birds, flowers, trees, animals. She always pointed out beauties of nature, like sunsets, flowers in the fields, birds at the bird feeder. She enjoyed life and loved being with her family. Most of all she believed in God and loved him with all her heart. She sang a lot when she was working around the house. One of her favorite songs was "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.

Marjorie was married to my 2nd cousin, Conan. My mom was Eunice Pohle Rodenkirch and Marjorie and Conan were spoken of often at Pohle reunions. Because of Marjorie's obituary I was able to update Conan in my Edwards book. Every time one of the "old" members past, history goes to, but they are not forgotten. Please accept my sympathy in the passing of your mom. Virginia - lochlast@gmail.com
