Doris M. Norgord

MADISON-Doris M. Norgord, age 92, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Waterford Assisted Living in Fitchburg. She was born on April 12, 1923, in Butternut, Wis., the daughter of Lother and Viola (Drott) Schluenz. She married Evan Norgord on Oct. 12, 1946, in Madison. Doris was a long-time Madison resident and a housekeeper for 30 plus years. She was a wonderful mother, not only to her children but also to the neighborhood kids. Doris was a wonderful cook, housekeeper and loved camping and traveling. Her pride and joys were her grandchildren. Doris is survived by her children, David (Bettie), Shirley (David) Schmidman and Robert (Becky); grandchildren, Michael (Sabrina) Norgord, Mandi (Justin) Campbell, Dana Schmidman and Amanda Schmidman; great-grandchildren, Connor Norgord and Mikayla Campbell; siblings, Harold Schluenz, Wilma Severson and Lother (Rozie) Schluenz; and half-siblings, Elizabeth and John. She was preceded in death by her husband, Evan of 67 years; parents; and siblings, Eileen, Frederick and Ila. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at noon, on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare.
