Obituary
Frydenlund, Dorothy Margaret (Simonson)
MADISON- Dorothy Margaret (Simonson) Frydenlund, age 98, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015. She was born on July 17, 1916, in Cottage Grove, to John and Elizabeth Simonson. Dorothy was born and raised on a farm until she was 6 years old and moved to Madison in 1921. She attended Lowell, Emerson, and Hawthorne schools and graduated from Madison East High School in 1935. After graduation, she was employed at the Wisconsin Telephone Company for six years as an operator. In 1939, she married the love of her life, Clarence Melford Frydenlund. They were married for 72 years, when Clarence went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 92. Together they raised three children, Melford, Nadine, and Richard, whom they loved very much. In 1960, Dorothy was employed at Madison General (Meriter) Hospital for 20 years. Dorothy and Clarence traveled to every state in the union, including all the national parks, and all the coastlines. They went to Mexico, the Bahamas, up to Nova Scotia and the Provinces in Canada. They were “snow birds” to Mission Texas for ten years before moving back to Marshall in 1994. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking and baking. In 2010, they moved to Parson, Tenn., to live with their daughter, Nadine, and son-in-law, Fred Reinhardt. Dorothy is survived by three children, Melford (Patricia), Richard (Judy), Nadine (Manfred Reinhardt); 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Toni. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; parents, Elizabeth and John Simonson; brother, William; sister, Betty Drenoske; grandson, Keith Bowen; and great-granddaughter, Amanda Beveridge. Funeral Services will be held at GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH, 1801 S. Thompson Rd., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015. Visitation will be held at the church, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Although she will be missed deeply by her family and friends, we are comforted by the fact that she is rejoicing with our Lord Jesus Christ and all those who have departed before her. We sincerely love her. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Aunt Dorothy was an exceptional person. I appreciated all the wonderful times I spent with her and Clarence. They will be missed by many and yet rejoiced by those that they will now see again.
