Kris M. Ives

Ives, Kristin M. (nee Vogel) MADISON –Kristin M. Ives (nee Vogel), born March 27, 1958 to Cynthia and Karl “Stu” Vogel, passed away on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015. Kris grew up in Akron, Ohio and attended Ellet High School, and remained close with friends after moving to Wisconsin. She married Patrick on July 26, 2003 and spent many happy years fishing, ‘trucking’ across the country and caring for their two parrots and cat, Kiki. As a breast cancer survivor, Kris gave her time and talent crafting hats and turbans for herself and others at Gilda’s Club in Madison. She was proud of her Hawaiian heritage. Kris loved to garden and her latest venture was crafting beautifully fragrant soaps. She was a long time employee of Webcrafters, Inc. Kris will be truly missed and remembered by all who knew her as a loving, helpful, giving and kind woman. Kris is survived by her loving husband, Patrick; daughter, Tina Horner; son, Bradley Preston; father, Karl Stuart (Nina) Vogel; sister, Kim (Robert) Frymyer; brothers-in-law, Michael (Jean) Ives, and Peter (Theresa) Ives; mother-in-law, Betty Ives; and a large extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cynthia Powell; sister, Kelly Vogel; and grandparents, Karl and Phyllis Vogel and Louis and Mary Robello. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
