Winrich, Arlene (Bitterman)
MADISON – Arlene (Bitterman) Winrich, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2015, with family at her side at the age of 88. Arlene was born in Havre, Mont. on April 3, 1927, to Adolph and Annie Bitterman. She married Donald L. Winrich on Oct. 14, 1951, in Havre, Mont., where their son, Kenneth and daughter, Ardyth were born. Their children Janet, Sharon and Stanley were born in Wisconsin. Arlene was a longtime member of City Church (formerly Madison Gospel Tabernacle). She loved to sing and sang in her church choir while growing up. She also enjoyed reading, drawing, and time with family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Winrich; her parents; brother, Robert Bitterman; and sisters, Betty Ann Bitterman and Helen (Bitterman) Nash. She is survived by children, Kenneth (Carol) Winrich of Madison, Ardyth (Curtis) Sailsbery of Waupaca, Janet (Mark) Felton of Stoughton, Sharon (David) Batz of Bristow, Wash. and Stanley (Dawn) Winrich of Waupaca; two brothers, Lavern (Virginia) Bitterman of Billings, Mont. and Donald (Linda) Bitterman of Havre, Mont.; sister-in-law, Neomia Bitterman of Dallas, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation and funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the funeral following at 11 a.m. Burial will be after the service at Blooming Grove Cemetery.
