My name is Barb (Rowe) Hyder and I am a past employee of Dr. Reuss. I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Reuss's passing. I actually had been searching for him recently. I currently live in St. Charles MO and my mom, who was a patient of Dr. Reuss, and who lives in Cottage Grove, called me to let me know about his passing. I loved working for him. I remember his love of fishing. Me and the staff I worked with at the time, even gave have him a fishing hat for one birthday like that of Lt. Colonel Henry Blake from MASH loaded with fishing lures.....I'll try to find that picture and upload it. He was gentle and kind and smart and funny and generous and cared a great deal about his employees and patients. I will always remember him with much admiration and love. Please accept my deepest sympathy. May God give you peace in the coming days and may God bless him in his new journey.

Rob's love for nature developed for him early on in his life. He shared that joy with his family and friends. He wanted to preserve the environment for the generations after him. We will miss you and think of you often when the fish are running.

So sorry to hear that Dr. Reuss has passed. He truly was an angel disguised as a dentist! He was always so kind, cheerful, funny ... and was truly an artist in the way that he could fix teeth. When I first went to see him ... I was a teenager from a broken home with a history of some traumatic experiences with a pretty brutal dentist. Dr. Reuss was always so reassuring and calm ... allowing me to feel comfortable in his dental chair. He always asked about my mom and my siblings. He took such wonderful care of his patients. I will never forget you ... Dr. Reuss. Peace.

Dr. Reuss became our family dentist when his office was on Atwood Avenue, I think back in the late 60s or early 70s. To this day, several dentists have commented on the excellent work he did back then that is still holding up today! When one of our elderly friends who was absolutely petrified of any dentist and hadn't been seen by one in years mentioned her fear, of course I referred her to Dr. Reuss who she faithfully went to until her passing. When a job transfer landed us in Milwaukee for a few years, we still drove back to Madison for our checkups, but then a few years later were transferred to Chicago and we finally decided we reluctantly had to find a new dentist. I will never forget his kindness when my mother, a patient of his for years, had to be admitted to a nursing home and he sent her a large floral bouquet there that touched her so deeply. So thank you for all the good years in your care!
