Obituary

Alexander, Bill “Tiny” COTTAGE GROVE/MADISON-Bill “Tiny” Alexander suffered a heart attack and died at his home on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Bill, the son of Clare and Olga Alexander, was born in Madison in 1950, and spent his life on the East side of Madison. He was a life-long member of Holy Cross Church, a founder and past president of the Capitol City Riders, and owner of the Willy Street Pub or ‘The Wisco’ for 25 years. If you were a member of Holy Cross you probably enjoyed the pancake breakfasts he served. If you were a CC Rider you were probably featured in one of his hilarious stories, and if you were customer or staff at The Wisco you probably had a beer with him and were entertained by one of those stories. Bill was a graduate of the culinary arts program at Madison College. He was a Teamster and worked for Nuendorf Transportation. Tiny loved to shoot trap and was a long-time member of The North Bristol Sportsman Club. The people who survive Bill and will join in celebrating his life are his wife, Holly; his children, Mitchell, Hannah and Clayton; and grandson Xavier. Bill will also be remembered by his best friend and brother, Ronald Alexander, sister-in-law, Inger Alexander, and nephew, Paul Alexander, along with Paul’s wife, Liz and their children, Clarisa and Tori Alexander. Bill’s cousins from Dodgeville, Hartford, and Janesville and Holly’s family from Watertown and Marinette will join in honoring him. Tiny will also be remembered and honored by his CCR brothers. Funeral services will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee Street, Madison at 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 11, 2015, with the Rev. Mark Bartels presiding. Visitation will be held at the GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Friday, April 10, 2015, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Holy Cross Building Fund. The Bill Alexander family thanks the nurses, nursing assistants and doctors of St. Mary’s Hospital, Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation and Home Health United. A special thanks to Brooks Jewel and the Wisco staff. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care 5203 Monona Drive (608)221-5420

You put up a hell of a fight. No one would have expected anything less from such a strong and loving man. You were generous, caring and an inspiration to many. I will forever miss you and your charismatic personality. Thank you for being part of my life. ~Bambi

Tiny and I played volleyball together, shot together, and drank beer together for 25 years. Never was there a time when introducing the other to someone new that we didn't lead with "This is my Good Friend . . ." He will be terribly missed. Frank W.

I have many fond and humorous memories of Tiny especially when he lived with us in our basement. I definitely felt safe when he was living with us. He once tried to physically stop a van with his body that was trying to rob the house across the street. He would often be upstairs cooking something and what a laugh he had. My condolences to Holly and family. Your loss is great, but you must have some wonderful and precious memories. Warm Hugs to All, Chris.

Ive known Tiny for many years. I bartended and cooked at the Wisco when his wife Holly and I were pregnant. We had our babies (Clayton and Amber) hours apart at the same hospital. Tiny was a great guy with a huge heart. He looked out for my Mom after we moved out of the neighborhood. Tiny had the very best and most contagious laugh and he had a story for every occassion. It was Rotten Peter and Tiny who I spent many mornings with setting up the bar, getting lunch specials ready and hearing of the many adventures the two of them had, laughing all day long at their antics!!! He will be greatly missed by many but the Legend of Tiny will live on!! Rest easy my friend!! Mizzuz Buzzard

Dear Holly and Family; My sincerest condolences to all of you. In speaking to Holly I really thought Tiny was turning a good corner. I was actually out in the yard yesterday and heard the sounds of trap being shot at Hope Rod and Gun Club and thought of him and how it would be nice to get to shoot with him. I just think of that booming voice and that great laugh and it makes me smile. I learned today (Tues) about his passing with great grief. If there is anything I can do, I would be happy to help. True Condolences. Doc - Chris Lamberty
